The Mevagissey Post Office is a Grade II Listed prominent building in its location at the heart of the Mevagissey Conservation Area, one of the most characterful fishing villages in Cornwall. As a former post office the building was at the heart of the community and therefore provided a unique historical contribution to the village.
The proposals enabled an important conservation and community objective of maintaining commercial use of the ground floor whilst providing much needed residential use of the upper floors, in the form of three apartments. Working with the local conservation team the period features and existing formation are retained where possible, whilst allowing the building to be utilised and preserved in use for the future.
